controversial music
by The Jester inis it just me, or is controversial music more truthful than, lets say...."the truth" ???
i've been warned against music like this since as long as i can remember but nuthing stopped me from listening to it and relating better to tha lyrics than any speech i've been givin at meetings.
music is a big part of my life and i'm making it a career goal, but i hear that jw's cant go into tha entertainment business... your trying to tell me that a job that puts food on tha table, and a lil more, is any different from selling shoes in a lil store?

Benefits of being a Dub as a child
by pratt1 in.
i can't think of many benefits of growing up a a dub but i do remember that i always viewed the other dub kids as brorthers and sisters and they became my support system amongst the "worldly people".
i remember going into a new neighhood or a new school and knowing that once i met the dub kids there, i would automatically have friends and i would not be alone.. this was especially comforting to me because i was an only child, and many times i entered into a new school not knowing anyone and sometimes being the only black kid in the class, my dub peers made me feel welcome and accepted me into the circle immediately.. for many years i feel special to be part of this worldwide brotherhood, and i am sure it is the reason why now i am inafriad of changes and/or new surroundings.. did you have similar experiences?.

Holy Crap! Star Trek's Sulu is gay!
by Elsewhere inlooks like lots of people are "coming out" right now.... http://www.cnn.com/2005/showbiz/tv/10/28/people.georgetakei.ap/index.htmlgeorge takei, 'trek's' sulu: i'm gay.
los angeles, california (ap) -- george takei, who as "star trek's" sulu was part of the starship enterprise crew through three television seasons and six movies, has come out as a homosexual in the current issue of frontiers, a biweekly los angeles magazine covering the gay and lesbian community.. takei told the associated press on thursday that his new onstage role as psychologist martin dysart in "equus," helped inspire him to publicly discuss his sexuality.. takei described the character as a "very contained but turbulently frustrated man.
" the play opened wednesday at the david henry hwang theater in los angeles, the same day that frontiers magazine featured a story on takei's coming out.. the current social and political climate also motivated takei's disclosure, he said.. "the world has changed from when i was a young teen feeling ashamed for being gay," he said.
